WHO:
Working life isn’t everything; but it is something. More than 15 years of mine have been involved with various aspects of Oracle database technology. Developer, DBA, Performance Tuning, Capacity Planning, Mentoring, Designing, and Analysis. Release 6 through 11.2. My time’s been divided between contract gigs and direct employee jobs; I’ve worked throughout North America.

WHAT:
The core of this blog is devoted to technical points which have interested me along the way. But I’m also curious these days about the behavior of Oracle, the company itself, as well as the phenomenon du jour: Big Data, and related trends. Disentangling the hype and the allure from the real payoff is something I’d like to play a role in forwarding.
